CEF Cramlington answers the call from BBC’s DIY SOS

When BBC's DIY SOS Big Build came calling, colleagues from our Cramlington branch were only too happy to supply products to help with their latest transformation project in Northumberland.

The DIY SOS team called upon tradespeople to get involved with the transformation of a Northumberland family's home following a two-year delay on renovation due to the global Coronavirus pandemic. And the crew at Cramlington were only too happy to supply a range of lighting, cables, isolators, extraction equipment and first-fix boxes to the site.

On a freezing cold day in Longframlington, Account Manager Chris Brown and Branch Manager Andy Smith, met DIY SOS electrician Billy Byrne and snapped some behind the scenes pictures.

The popular TV programme sees Nick Knowles and a team of trades people recruit friends, family and local trades to help transform the homes of families across Britain.

While programme makers don’t want to give away the big surprise until the show airs later this summer, the big build project will transform the lives of the Owen family whose daughter Bobbie has complex medical and mental health issues.

Local contractors working on the build regularly popped into the nearby CEF Cramlington store to enjoy a hot drink as they picked up supplies and were impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable welcome they received.
