At CEF, supporting the communities we serve has always been important to us. That’s why we’re proud to announce an exciting new charity partnership with WellChild, helping children with complex medical needs thrive at home while supporting families across the UK through fundraising, awareness and practical hands-on help.

Supporting families through practical action

WellChild works to improve the lives of seriously ill children and their families through specialist nurses, family support programmes and practical projects that make everyday life safer and more manageable.

Through this new partnership, CEF will support families across the UK through fundraising, awareness activities and volunteering, including hands-on involvement in essential home and garden transformations delivered through WellChild’s Helping Hands programme.

As part of Helping Hands, CEF teams will take part in projects designed to transform outdoor spaces into safe, accessible areas where children and their families can enjoy the outdoors together. These projects are completed within a short timeframe to minimise disruption while delivering meaningful, lasting improvements that help transform life at home and within the community.

For CEF, the partnership reflects a wider commitment to supporting local communities through practical action that makes a real difference to everyday lives.

Helping children thrive at home

Alongside Helping Hands projects, CEF team members across the business will also raise funds to support wider WellChild programmes, including the Better at Home programme.

The programme helps children leave hospital sooner and receive care safely at home. Through the provision of state-of-the-art training suites and resources, parents and carers are given the confidence to manage the complex care needs of their children, from tracheostomy care to basic life support. This vital training helps children spend more uninterrupted time at home and less time in hospital.

CEF has already completed three Helping Hands transformations, with further projects planned across the UK this year, including in Northern Ireland and at a community respite centre in Basingstoke.

One recent transformation highlights the real difference this work can make. Two brothers who rely on wheelchairs were able to safely access their garden for the first time after an unsafe and difficult-to-use outdoor space was transformed into a level, accessible area by CEF volunteers in just a few days.

A partnership built on shared values

We’re proud to support WellChild and the incredible work they do for seriously ill children and their families across the UK. Giving back to our communities is part of who we are, and partnering with WellChild allows us to contribute with real and lasting impact.

We are so excited about our new partnership with CEF. Our shared values, commitment and passion are going to have a profound impact on the lives of so many children and families across the UK and will create a legacy of care for many years to come. We can’t wait to get started!

Supporting communities for 75 years

CEF selected WellChild as its new charity partner following feedback from team members across the business, with supporting children, families and people living with long-term health conditions identified as a priority by many across the team.

The partnership aligns with CEF Cares and launches as the business celebrates 75 years of supporting the electrical trade and local communities.

This new partnership also follows CEF’s long-standing relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support, during which team members raised more than £1.25 million for the charity. CEF will continue to support the Electrical Industries Charity alongside its new partnership with WellChild.
