Client Name
INEOS Grangemouth
Industry
Petrochemical Process
Scope
Collaboration to provide a zone 1 temporary lighting solution for a maintenance project.
Challenges Faced
The remote location of the project on the INEOS site meant that supplying electrical power to the location was not possible, but the project needed to be lit for the maintenance engineers to carry out vital planned maintenance.
Our Solution
Working closely with the client and our valued supply chain, we proposed a solution that removed the need to have power at the location by utilising a Zone 0 portable lighting solution that would give up to 12 hours illumination on a single charge.
This enabled the client to install the lighting at the positions required without the need to provide a temporary electrical supply and negated the need for associated risk assessments and method statements that would normally be required prior to commencement of works.
Results Achieved
The client was able to complete the works at a much-reduced cost in terms of installation cost while maintaining safety requirements due to the products being compliant to ATEX Zone 0. The products supplied are also now part of their maintenance asset and will continue to serve them as an ATEX lighting solution for years to come.
Key Milestones
CEF have become an integral part of the Altrad Babcock supply chain and continue to work closely with the engineering team to offer solutions for their ever-growing client base in Hazardous Area's and beyond.
